EMT Original Program @ Adelphi University

This EMT course is a certification course conducted by Rescue Training Institute at Adelphi Univeristy.

Adelphi Univeristy is NOT affiliated with this course and there are NO credits given by Adelphi Univeristy for completing this course.

This course is conducted by New York State Course Sponsor Rescue Training International, Inc., in Long Island. The skills location for thsi course will be at Aura'a academy in Elmont, New York.

Hybrid/Online EMT Refresher Course

Our unique online EMT Refresher course is an innovative approach allowing New York State EMTs the ability to recertify with ease. All participants will only attend (1) practical challenge exam in person session. Some participates, after evaluation may need to attend skills session AND final practical skills session.

After completion of this program, PSI (The NYS DOH testing vendor) will email the student to schedule a state exam at a computer-based testing center.

N95 Respirator Online Course & Fit Testing (LIU Students ONLY)

This course and in-person fit testing are designed to meet the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) (29 CFR 1910.134). This requires a respirator fit test to confirm the fit of any respirator that forms a tight seal on the wearer’s face before it is to be used in the workplace. That same OSHA respirator standard also prohibits tight-fitting respirators from being worn by workers who have facial hair that comes between the sealing surface of the facepiece and the face of the wearer.

This is a (2) part process once you register:

(1) You must register for a date and time for your in-person fit testing. This will take approximately 30 minutes. 

(2) After you register and pay for this course, you will receive an invitation from our Learning Management System, the release date will be listed above in your course description. 

 

 

Online 24 HazMat / CEVO Combo Course

These courses are designed for candidates wishing to apply to become FDNY EMT's or FDNY EMT trainees. Upon completion of our online programs you will be eligible to file for and receive additional points on the application/exam. These courses meet the requirements listed in the DCAS Notice of Examination.

You will recieve (2) certifications once you complete each coursefrom and each course will meet the requirements listed in the DCAS Notice of Examination. 

HazMat Operations and CEVO are the only 2 additional courses that a current EMT will need to receive the maximum 10 additional points ( 5 points for HazMat Operations and 5 point for CEVO) added to their score outside of the work experience section of the application/exam.

EVOC and/or HazMat Training must be successfully completed by the last day of the application period. HazMat Training must be to the Operations Level; it must also be a minimum of 24 hours of training.  A candidate will not receive credit for entry-level training, awareness training, or any operations level training less than 24 training hours.

Any Candidate looking to apply to become an FDNY EMT Trainee (Not already certified as an EMT) can earn an additional 5 points (15 Total with a 3 part combo of HazMat, CEVO, and BLS) by taking our American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) program. This course consists of 2 components. An online module with interactive videos and exams and an in person practical skills exam. After completion of the online learning and testing component each student will sign up for a skills exam appointment where we will exercise social distancing and practice proper PPE wearing guidelines to ensure the safety of both student and instructor. Upon successful completion of these 2 components an AHA BLS certificate will be issued to the student. When registering for this program students will receive a student review guide for CPR skills.
